Amarillo Civic Center opening for Krokus, 1984

I've worked in the ad business for over 30 years, first as an Art Director then as a Creative Group head managing clients and young creatives. I love creating communications across all media that build strong brands. My work has been awarded by The One Show, Communication Arts, D&AD, The Obie Awards, DSVC, and many others.

I started out working on cars to make ends meet while waiting for our rock band, MATRIX, to get a record deal. Turns out not too many rock bands in Canyon, TX were getting record deals. Weird. So I went to school to be a doctor. That lasted until late in my junior year when I realized I really didn't want to be a doctor. But I liked to draw, so I took a drawing class. And next thing you know I'm an art director working on some pretty awesome brands like Bridgestone, The Home Depot, USA Today, Hummer, H-E-B, TXU Energy, and The Tire Rack to name a few. I still like to turn the occasional wrench and I try to keep my guitar chops up. Because you never know when that record deal might come through.
